Month two underway the work I'm being trusted to do has developed quickly and by the end of these four weeks I was bridging out from the marketing department and into the engineering side of things. I'm past that settling in stage and the days are flowing by smoothly.

I enjoyed continued development of this project and look forward to see it continue in the future.

The two projects shown above were one of my first involvement with the engineering side of Kents. The Top drawing is for a roof rack of a car, the design cut into the steel depicts a forest setting with deer and mountains in the back.
The bottom drawing of a fox creeping through brush with another mountain background is for a wexford hunting society. Tragically one of there members Dylan Boggan unfortunately passed away , and this steel memorial was requested by them for his grave.
I worked together with one of the fabricators to get the design they wanted. he gave me rough idea of fox moving in front of a mountain, and I put this together after several drafts.

in the above image you can see the yellow writing which shows where will be etched and the white lines where will be laser cut. The etching was done outside of Kents and was also free of charge when they realized who it was for which I thought was a lovely gesture.
To of worked on something that means so much to a group of people, that memorializes someone's life meant a lot to me as well. it was a great idea by the group.

Another project thrown into the mix was the redesign of the current kent podium. These were my first few concept design going off colours and shape designs found on Kent Stainless website.
these were put together using Affinity photo editing software.

I decided to expand on using black powder coated finish found in several Kent products paired with satin/polished finished steel cut strips to form designs.
I was also asked to try and incorporate the Kent motto " A partner you can rely on".
Renders found on this page were made through solidworks visualize after I measured its dimensions and modelled the podium on soldiworks.
the flowing design and the straight tilting lines on the front of most podiums shown here are also found at the gates to the front entrance to Kents. This formation is also a recurring theme throughout brochures and the website.

Another project that brought me more into the engineering side of things. this combination of street sign and footstool for local female owned "henhouse" barbershop. I used sheet metal tab in solidworks which I hadn't done much before but its easy to get used to.
the main priority was turning the above files into solidworks models which I've attached in the corner . once they're modelled i'd label through each drawing and turn the required pieces into dxf files so they could be laser cut.
PDM
after this project I was finally comfortable using the pdm software. its basically a massive filing system thoroughly organized and people can "check in" or "check out" files to work on. You can submit work for approval and once its been checked for errors it gets moved onto the next step of the process, manufacturing on the floor.

Overall thoroughly enjoying my time here so far I look forward to expanding more into both the marketing and engineering sides of the company as well as the development and progression of ongoing projects such as the bespoke planter in Cork and the customization of the Kent Stainless Podium.
